88 tc rear install in a 84 svo

      Well first it was an easy swap. I had no problems what so ever. First I removed all of the turbo coupe brakes and both axels from the tc rear. They will not be used in an svo swap. Next I used a small grinder and cut off the brake caliper brackets, the ones welded to the rear housing they will not work on the big svo calipers. Then on the lower control arm bracket on the tc rear, I taped (5/16 –18 thread) the holes on the backside, your svo ebrake cable bracket will go there.

Now when I removed the rear from my svo I left all the svo brakes on the car. I just unbolted them from the rear and hung them up with a wire. Next I just unbolted the rear from the car. Drive shaft, upper and lower control arms, in any order you want, but it worked well for me that way. Next I took the axels from the svo rear and put them in the Tc rear and put the cover on. Then I bolted the tc 8.8 in my svo, started with the lower control arms then the uppers and then the drive shaft. Next I bolted all the svo brakes back on the tc rear it is a direct fit. The svo ebrake cable brackets bolt on where you taped the holes in the lower bracket like above. Next refill with gear lube and drive away. Easy swap I did it by myself in a few hour’s .
